Lifestyle photography is all about capturing, enjoying, and celebrating things as they happen in real life; it’s authentic, it’s natural, it’s kind of editorial. Which means it fits right along with my style :)
A Lifestyle Session is different than a traditional photography session in a few ways: it involves very little posing or prompted looking at the camera; it uses your home as the setting, so everyone feels comfortable and willing to be themselves; and it is way less structured, so it leaves room for natural responses and emotions from everyone!
During this kind of session, I come to your home, where I capture the special moments that are an every day occurrence, but often get overlooked: the little facial expressions your 5 year old makes while building a Lego Deathstar, the way your family plays games around the table, the enthusiasm with which your 3 year old plays dress up in their room, the afternoon story you read to your child, the playful game of fetch in your living room with your dog, and any number of tiny but lingering moments you notice in your family and life when you’re really watching.
The Lifestyle Session tells a story. There is a process and progression. I love to play off our senses with the use of touch, sight, smell, and sound, which can be used to recall memories and emotions in greater depth when you flip through the albums down the road, or view the wall gallery of images from the session.
The Lifestyle Session is about YOU and YOUR FAMILY, in your HOME. This session is perfect for all kinds of people: kids, families, couples, families with newborns, families with 5 kids, people with pets or hobbies, and really anything in between. Everyone has a home life, and everyone has a relationship worth remembering and celebrating.
