Candid, okay. But what do sessions actually FEEL like?
If the thought of family photos makes you picture stiff smiles, stressed parents, and constantly asking your kids to “just look at the camera for one second,” you can exhale a little here.
My sessions are built around connection, movement, and letting your family interact naturally together. That means your family and kids don’t need to perform perfectly, and you don’t need to spend the whole session worrying about whether everyone is behaving.
During our time together, you can expect things like:
- playing games instead of standing perfectly still
- snuggling, walking, tickling, laughing, and exploring together
- prompts and gentle direction instead of rigid posing
- space for kids to warm up naturally
- flexibility for snack breaks, meltdowns, big feelings, or unexpected moments
- photos that feel like your real family instead of a performance
- guidance the whole time, without things feeling overly scripted
Some families are loud and playful. Some are quiet and tender. Some have shy kids, neurodivergent kids, chaotic toddlers, reluctant partners, or parents who feel awkward in front of the camera. None of that disqualifies you from meaningful photos.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s preserving the feeling of this season of life while you’re living it.
